Japan Highlights

We are home from our trip to Japan! Sean was sent to Tokyo for work and I met him over there and then we traveled for a week. We stayed in Tokyo and then took day trips on bullet trains to several locations. It was not nearly long enough, but we had a absolutely amazing time! Here are some of the highlights.

  • Tokyo, the Tokyo tower, and our beautiful hotel and our amazing view of Tokyo Bay
  • Delicious and wonderful food King Crab, prawns, Sobe beef, okonomi-yaki, were just a few
  • Riding the Shinkansen "bullet trains" at 300 kmph!
  • Gorgeous gardens: hydrangea flowers, zen rock gardens, and Shogun Palace grounds
  • Amazing architecture, temples, and shrines
  • Hiroshima Peace Memorial and Museum
  • Kyoto was beautiful with the Kinkakuji Temple "Golden Palace" and where we bought the girl's kimonos
  • Asakusa where we bought hand made chopsticks
  • Attending the Tokyo Temple
The kids stayed at home with Grandma Kelli who came to watch them. They had a great time attending the Pacific Science Center and the ZOO, and poor Grandma hit the hottest week in Seattle with temperatures soaring to 98degrees and with no air conditioning there is little relief. All the kids were excited to see us but probably, not as much as Crew. For several days he wouldn't even let me leave the room with out him screaming, but he seems to be trusting me again.

Japan was unforgettable and I'm so grateful for the chance to experience it's beauty.
Pictures are on the following post.
