The Olympic Pennisula

With our northwest time creeping to an end, we decided to head to the Olympic Peninsula for our last deep breath of greenery, water, mountains, and of course to see a vampire or 2.
We got up early and took the ferry across the sound and then headed for the Sol Duc Hot Springs Resort. They are natural hot springs, but man-made pools. It was really fun to relax and swim in the hot springs. We also hiked to a nearby waterfall... the hike was .8 miles one way, didn't sound like a long hike until you're dragging a 4 yr old and carrying a 20 month old, but it was fun and we saw lots of GREEN, no vampires though...so we headed to Forks next to see if we could spot one. In Forks, there was lots of fun Twilight paraphernalia that my kids had no idea about and my husband just kept rolling his eyes...I think it was a fun day for everyone...Olympic Peninsula ...check
