For years Chloe has been begging us for a pet. We finally decided that if animals is what she was into, we needed to let her experience it first hand. As parents, we were having commitment issues with a dog or cat, plus the cost, was going to be too high. Sean wanted a fish. I thought something fuzzy would be more fun. So after many trips to the pet store, we came home with Princess, a dwarf Djungarian hamster. We gave it to Chloe for her birthday. To say she was excited is an understatement. We love it too...look at the cute cage, it so perfectly matched Chloe's room. Chloe's doing a great job of cleaning the cage and keeping her fed. Ella can't get enough and loves to hold the 'hamper.' Tyler took it to pet day at Mom's Day Out and was so excited, except for the bright pink cage. So far, we are enjoying the world of having a pet....

We LOVE the pink cage! Nice idea to start small. We started with rats, not quite as cute though...they didn't work out so well
(you don't want to know the story at this time),
So now we have a small dog. "It's great for the kids" ...is what I say over and over to myself, but for all the pet difficulties, they truly are a special comfort. Have fun
How do you get yours to not run away when your holding it? Ours so far is not liking to be held.
Hamsters are the way to go! We had a dwarf hamster in Germany. I'm sure Chloe will be a great caretaker and the pink cage is adorable.
Jake snuck the boys out of the house today and surprised me by making us a pet family as well...with a small turtle!
